BeCA 2016 Recruitment Campaign

A few facts:

• BeCA needs more members:
  • More representativeness = more power & influence
  • We need volunteer members to carry on the work
  • We are financially autonomous & therefore rely on membership fees
• The most efficient way to recruit is mouth-to-ear, i.e. YOU
• The best place for this is: the cockpit!
• So… BeCA needs you to recruit more members: explain to them why you are a member of BeCA and why they must join!

Let us give you some tips to help you help us.

First, try to identify your colleagues:

1. BeCA members – they are already convinced
2. Those who do not know BeCA – they need factual information about BeCA
3. Those who know BeCA but still hesitate to join – they need arguments to take the plunge
4. Those who know BeCA, know we do a good work, but will never join because they only want to take advantage from our work. By their behaviour, these pilots actually contribute to the decline of their own working conditions and the pilot profession as a whole.

You only need to talk to the second & third categories of pilots:

• For those who don’t know us: give them the leaflet about BeCA we sent you by regular mail a few months ago.
• For those who are still hesitant: convince them that the investment is worth it!

Here are a few arguments for them:

• BeCA is the ONLY recognised professional association representing pilots in Belgium.
• Unions need our longstanding expertise on aviation and pilot specific matters.
• BeCA influences policies and legislation regulating how YOU should work.
• BeCA offers individual support to members facing medical issues, loss of licence, accident/incident (through our 24/7 hotline), legal problems or non-respect of just culture.
• BeCA provides first-hand information on all matters that concern directly EACH and EVERY pilot in Belgium and expat Belgian pilots.

If BeCA does not do it, nobody will!
