About BeCA
The only Belgian pilot association was created in 1940 to defend the interests of commercial aviation pilots.
Background
The only Belgian pilot association.

The only Belgian pilot association was created in 1940 to defend the interests of commercial aviation pilots. Until 1998, two associations represented pilots and flight engineers in Belgium (BFCA and ABPNL). In early 1999, these associations merged to create the Belgian Cockpit Association (BeCA).
Today, BeCA is the only recognised professional association representing airline pilots based in Belgium. It is self-funded and politically independent. BeCA works in close cooperation with other Belgian stakeholders and unions to provide them with its large expertise on matters linked to the pilot profession and aviation safety.

The team
Powered by Volunteers.

BeCA’s team is composed of one staff member and a lot of pilot volunteers. Together, they form the backbone of the association. The General Assembly, which meets once a year, is the highest decision-making body of the organisation. Every member has the right to attend and vote at the General Assembly. The General Assembly elects the members of the Executive Committee and approves the budget, among others.
The Executive Committee, together with the staff, ensures the daily operation of the association. It meets at least once a month. It is composed of the President, the Executive Secretary, the Assistant Secretary and the Treasurer, in addition to the Vice-Presidents for each airline, the ECA and IFALPA Directors and the coordinators for the Air Safety Committee (ASC) and the Jobseekers Working Group.
