Refund of VAT

Don’t lose money: Send us your invoices!
One of the files we have been working on is the issue around taxes (TVA/VAT/BTW) on the student pilot’s training. A few years ago, we started building a database with contracts and invoices our members received during their pilot training program.
We noticed that some of you are still not aware of this!
According to Belgian Law, you can challenge an invoice up to 10 years after it was issued, which means that you might claim back the VAT that you paid on invoices that have been issued in September 2004 or later. As the representative and defender of your rights, BeCA decided to pay for the first step of the procedure, i.e. the legal summon (Dagvaarding/Assignation en Justice) issued by our lawyer. This legal action extends the 10-year limit and will make sure our members are entitled to a refund the day the Court states VAT was not due.
Until now, BeCA has acted for invoices approaching the 10-year expiry date and limited its intervention to only one FTO per student. In case of invoices from several FTOs, members can coordinate with BeCA’s lawyer, through BeCA.
If you are within the 10-year limit, we urge you to send a copy of all your invoices and contracts (if any) received during your student pilot training in order to update our database.
We would regret to see members have their rights expired.
BeCA is closely following up on this file. As soon as there is any news, you will be the first to be informed!
