Expat licences

A couple of months ago, we announced that the Belgian CAA would also apply a French derogation to FCL.940. This could allow to issue a type rating restricted to aircraft registered in a non-EASA country based on the LPC done in this third country.
Feedback from our members showed that the BCAA will only apply part of this derogation.
In short, if you want to convert a third country licence or endorse a type rating issued by a third country, a full EASA licence and type rating will be issued provided you fulfil some experience and recency on type requirements and you pass an EASA LPC.
If you do not revalidate your EASA rating the next year, you will still be able to renew it within 7 years provided you follow an appropriate training in an ATO and pass an EASA LPC.
