In our previous Cockpit Flash, we informed you about the adoption by the European Parliament of a new regulation on occurrence reporting. On 24 April, the final text (Reg. (EU) No 376/2014) was published on the EU website. It is very good news for all pilots in Europe and it was made possible thanks to a very effective lobbying campaign led by ECA. Among the most important positive achievements is that the term “employees” was replaced by “employees and contracted personnel”, which therefore better protects the reporter, including contractors.
