Dear members, Dear colleagues,

At the end of January, we informed you that the positions of BeCA Vice-Presidents for each airline were open and we invited all our members to stand up for them. The current vice-presidents were the only candidates and they will therefore run for a new 2-year mandate:

• Christophe Sambre (Brussels Airlines)
• Alain Vanalderweireldt (EA/DHL), assisted by Vinciane Cabaret (EAT)
• Delphine Saive (Jetairfly)
• Bart Smet (Thomas Cook)
• Rémi Thirion (TNT Airways)

Their role is to represent their members within BeCA’s executive committee and assist them with whatever issue they might face.

They coordinate all BeCA activities within their airlines:

• Hotline accident/incident, including Just Safety Culture issues
• Pilot individual support (Medical, Legal, Training)
• Coordination between company union bodies and BeCA/ECA technical working groups (e.g. accident prevention : Flight Data, Flight Time Limitations; Fatigue Risk Management, Cabin Air Quality, etc.) and industrial working groups (Training issues, Pilot contracts and basing issues, Flight to Crisis Zones, etc.)
• Represent their members during BeCA’s monthly Executive Committee meeting.
• Legal support from BeCA to pilot group in case of collective general issue (CLA, …)

Concretely, this means that they are your direct contact person in case of:

• Assistance incident/accident (BeCA hotline)
• Just safety / disciplinary issues
• FTL issues
• Training issues
• Juridical assistance
• Any other issue – if you don’t know whom to talk to, contact them!

Our new management assistant, Isabelle De Gandt, will replace our current secretary, Simonne, little by little and will be responsible for all medical and loss of licence issues. Do not hesitate to contact her (isabelle.degandt@beca.be – +32 2 245 34 50).
