EAT/DHL Update – CF 2018-1

EAT: Looking at a bright future?
A few weeks ago, EAT management announced a vast expansion plan.
Due to a prediction of higher volumes, it was decided to phase out the Boeing 757 fleet by 2019 and to have additional A300 aircraft and possibly introducing long haul operations with A330s.
It is at the moment unclear when and how the change will be operated. Different scenarios are possible. Although no job losses are foreseen, the EAT pilot representatives are being proactive and keeping a watchful eye.
After months of negotiation and fiddling from management, it looks like the CLA for the Brussels Based pilots will soon be signed. This CLA aims at securing current working conditions for the flight crews with Brussels as a home base.
On a more technical note, EAT management is actively tackling the oil smell issues on the A300 fleet. The root cause of the problem has been found, and seals are now being replaced at specific intervals, or as soon as suspicious signs have been observed.
It is going to be both an exciting and challenging year for EAT pilots, and you can trust your flight crew representatives to be ready for any outcome.
Always happy landings!
