TUIFly Belgium Update – Spring 2019 Cockpit Flash

Cockpit Flash articles
For the first year since the start-up of our company there will be no expansion at TUIfly BE. The stop of the expansion has some unexpected consequences like the problems with the granting of vacation during this summer holidays. Most individual problems have been solved with the goodwill of scheduling and the individual pilots. But it looks like this issue will become more and more challenging.
The extra Moroccan production is another challenge that our scheduling department will have to handle. The equal distribution of the NAFB will remain a priority.
In recent discussions, we have heard that more and more schedules are being planned in a 7-3 pattern. These schedules can be really tiring, especially when some standby duties are filled up by OCC: remember that SAFE-CARE is not used by OCC!
This summer, the commercial department plans more night flights; the FSAG is currently investigating how to plan while mitigating fatigue.
More and more LH flights are ending at outstation (mainly AMS and CDG), our delegates believe that hotel should be planned at the outstation; rest should be taken before positioning home.
To tackle these topics we need reports, so please take the time to make a fatigue report when necessary.
