Dear Colleagues,

Two weeks after an announcement of fleet expansion, this uppercut really came out of the blue and we’re still suffering from an awful hangover. Divestment, job losses, precarious conditions, etc. that’s very heavy and unfortunately a well known feeling for TNT pilots…

A least, we know in which act we’re going to play again. This time, the bad guys didn’t even try to hide their intentions: they want to take our jobs and replace us with American pilots. Our problem is not coming from the FedEx management but from our US colleagues. Did you know that a FedEx pilot costs around the double of a European pilot for the same operation? And they just declared us the war to take our jobs!

We know our enemy, so we know our objective: force them to sign a convention that will preserve our jobs. A convention is a standard way to solve problems between 2 pilot communities! But, it’s David versus Goliath.

Our experience with UPS will be very helpful and we won’t be alone in this fight. We’re not the first airline in the world having to sign this kind of protocol. ECA and IFALPA have both a huge experience in this business and they will help us throughout the whole process

But, most importantly, and it cannot be stressed enough, we must stand united! BeCA and our union’s delegates must represent 100% of TNT pilots!! It’s a war between their union and us. We need you! Go talk to your colleagues and make sure ALL of them join a union by the end of this month. And don’t forget to join BeCA as well if you are not a member yet!

After this paramount step, we’ll build pressure on FedEx pilots before starting the negotiation process. We’ll need your help and more information will come later.

The battle did not even start that they’re already celebrating their victory. But they don’t know us… Be active to all requests received from BeCA and from your union’s delegates.
