Safety Information Bulletin – Runway incursion prevention

On 14 September 2017, the EBBR Safety Management Unit published the following safety information bulletin (reserved to BeCA members).

Brussels Airport has, in coordinaton with the Local Runway Safety Team members, decided to implement Mandatory Instructon Markings and Enhanced Taxiway Centre Markings at Cat. I or Cat. I/II/III holding positons. The frst markings will be visible as from September 16 on taxiways E1 and C6. All other taxiways will be marked before end 2017.

In additon, Brussels Airport has implemented a NO ENTRY marking at taxiway C5 and repositoned the holding positon on taxiway C6 (perpendicular to the taxiway centre line markings).

All these measures were proposed as recommendatons in runway incursion investgatons to enhance awareness of both vehicle drivers and cockpit crew.
