News from VLM, Cityjet & Air Belgium – CF 2018-02
VLM
On 31 August, SHS Aviation put SHS Antwerp Air- lines (VLM) into liquidation and stopped all its Fokker 50 operations. However the VLM Airlines (Brussels) operations in BRU, using an A320 and an A321, are unaffected since they are not linked to SHS Aviation.
Cityjet
We are pleased to announce the creation of a new pilot category gathering the Cityjet pilots! The first Cityjet pilot meeting was held on 4 October 2018. It was the opportunity to meet our new members, have an overview of the current situation of the Cityjet pilots based in Brussels, identify their requests and propose possible actions to take. BeCA will start working in close cooperation with its newly appointed Cityjet coordinators.
Air Belgium
After several delays, Air Belgium (ABB) finally operated its first flight from CRL to HKG on 3 June. In parallel with its scheduled 3 weekly flights, Air Belgium operated wet leases for several airlines. Its initial fleet of 2 Airbus A340-300 already grew to 4 aircraft. However, ABB suspended its flights to HKG for the winter season, due to issues with their main customer, a Chinese tour operator.
