Flight duty issue – SN1255 DKR-CKY-FNA-BRU

Airline
Published on 23/10/2014
Due to the ebola outbreak in West Africa, the crew layover was moved to Dakar (DKR) where a technical stop for crew change is done for all flights to Conakry (CKY), Freetown (FNA) and Monrovia (ROB).
For SN1247 DKR-ROB-BRU, there is no Flight Duty Period (FDP) issue (11h25 with 3h45 WOCL encroachment, 2 sectors).
However, for SN1255 DKR-CKY-FNA-BRU, the FDP (12h10 with 2h25 WOCL encroachment, 3 sectors) exceeds the max FDP “Long Haul” of the OM Part A bulletin AO_13_36.
As a consequence, the flight can only be operated according to EU OPS rules (OM Part A “Legal rules”), provided you are a staff crew or on your explicit request. We have informed the management and the Belgian CAA of this issue. Should you intend to operate SN1255, contact Crew Watch and notify them you want to operate the flight under “Legal rules”.
Should you have any question, feel free to contact us.
