Ebola virus outbreak – Update

Published on 25 August 2014

In April, we published an article on the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa. Four months later, the outbreak is not yet under control and is now spreading to more countries.

We would like to remind you of the following procedures in case of sick passenger (infected by any kind of disease, not only by Ebola):

  • Before boarding, you must deny access on board to any passenger showing signs of sickness, if he/she did not receive prior approval by the company doctor;
  • In the event that a case breaks out during the flight, the Captain must inform the health authorities of the airport of arrival and you must wait for their « green light » before disembarking passengers and cargo/luggage.
  • Refer to your company’s OM Part A for the detailed procedures.

Please visit our Facebook article for updated information about this issue. You can also find some guidance materials for airlines on the Center for Disease Control’s website and some interesting contact details if you are travelling to West Africa in the attached document.

Should you need more information or support, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,
