Wet-leasing: Council gives mandate to European Commission

Despite our strong lobbying against it, the Council finally gave the European Commission full mandate to negotiate with the US an agreement aimed at further liberalising wet-leasing (i.e. leasing an aircraft with its crew). This could have bad repercussions on our jobs and opens the way to similar agreements with other countries. Read more: http://bit.ly/2fyPMIB

ECA Guidelines on smoke/fume, smell events

Safety & Security Concerns over large Personal Electronic Devices as Checked Baggage

Following the ban from two states (UK and US) on large Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) in the passenger cabin of aircraft on specific routes, ECA issued a position paper on 31 March 2017, highlighting that this ban may carry more safety and security risks than the current practice and calling for a safety and security assessment to be made without delay: http://bit.ly/2hR4ZoL
