The news of the Brussels Airlines restructuring we have been dreading for months finally fell yesterday.

The pilot community is seriously shocked but is still up and united!

Through the BeCA Industrial WG, we remain in contact with the Brussels Airlines Company Council (BA-CC), where several of our members have a (Pilot) Union Mandate. Thanks to them, we will make sure to get our message across and that the voice of the pilots will be heard.

Keeping in mind that our mission is to represent and defend the collective interests of the whole pilot group, our main concern and our action plan will focus on the following aspects:

• The severance package paid to the dismissed pilots
• Preserving the terms and conditions for the pilots remaining onboard
• The application of the seniority list principle
• Intensifying our European Coordination with Vereinigung Cockpit (VC), Swiss ALPA (AEROPERS), Austrian Cockpit Association (ACA)
• The follow-up of temporary exemptions of DGTA/DGLV
• The re-training of pilots when operations will restart
• The Implementation of health-safety aspects to protect flight crews (before the flight, during the flight, at layovers)
• …
